I grew up in a family that was very faithful in going to church. I am thankful for that background as God used the Gospel and worked in my heart to show me that I needed a Savior. I asked the Lord to save me and forgive me of my sins when I was six years old. I wasn’t sinless or free of doubt, but God did a tremendous work in my life and I know I am saved by the grace of Jesus alone. When I was seven years old, I moved with my sisters and mom to South Carolina. I went to elementary, high school and college in SC and was involved in anything and everything I possibly could! After graduating college, I planned on becoming a kindergarten teacher in my home town. However, God had other plans for me. From there, I was headed to be a counselor at a camp in Northern Wisconsin for the summer. I then met a travelling evangelistic team that would travel all over the US spreading the gospel through preaching and music to help churches evangelize in their community. They asked me to travel at the end of that summer and I ended up travelling for 4 years with them. I helped with music and also helped with resources and secretarial work for the team. After this, I moved to Guam and became the music secretary for a church and school for 3 years. Currently, I live and work in the good old state of South Carolina with my new husband, Matt. In the past 2 years I have earned another college degree and have recently published a children’s book that was released July 2018. I’m thankful that God led me to all the places that He has and I look forward to seeing what He has planned for the future.
The purpose of this blog is for sharing what God is teaching me in my walk with Him, but also a place to put some fun stories from my travels and some other exciting things as well. I am excited to see where God is going to bring me and what He is going to teach me. I would love to hear from you too and read about what God is doing in your lives. “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” -Psalm 18:1-2
